Are you one of the 50 recreational boats that navigate back and forth from Florida to get in a great day of fishing off the coast of the Bahamas? There are a few things you should know about laws in the Bahamas compared to Florida where you will ultimately be bringing your days' catch.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Bahamian and U.S. fishing regulations are not always the same. There are seasonal times and conditions to returning with lobster, there are some fish that must be returned as filets and some as whole fish.

Be sure to check the websites where you are fishing and where you will ultimately be returning to be sure you are complying with the regulations. You can download The Bahamas Sports fishing regulations here.
